Department description:

The treatment is intended for the children and youth under 18 years of age, qualified for the treatment in the hospital-closed system. 


Children with the following diseases are hospitalised in the form of daytime stay:

  • Orthopaedic - spine fractures, limb fractures, status of post bone injuries in the plaster casts and after the orthopaedic dressing, status of post dynamic corrections of bones and of post plasty of ligaments, scoliosis, kyphosis, congenital spinal deformities, limb deformities.
  • Surgical - after the injuries of the soft tissue, the peripheral nerves, after plastic surgery and vascular treatments, after burns.
  • Neurological - cerebral palsy, myelomeningocele, muscular dystrophy, limb paresis, radiculopathy, cranial and peripheral nerve disorders.
  • Neurosurgical - status of post peripheral nerve injuries, status of post spinal cord ijuries, status of post craniocerebral surgeries, damage to the nerve roots and the central nervous system, discopathy.
  • Rheumatological - subacute status impairing the locomotor system.


The post-injury and post-surgical treatment patients are admitted to the department in which there is therapeutic rehabilitation of children prepared for surgery. In particular there are: rebuilding and strengthening of muscle power, reduction of muscle tone, elongation and activation of spine, elimination of joint contractures and activation of joints, creation of new motion models and techniques, service of prosthesis, learning to walk unassisted, learning of self-service. The pre-surgical preparation also includes the diagnostics: radiological, laboratory, spirometric, physiotherapeutic and kinesiotherapeutic.


Referral for systemic rehabilitation is issued by the physician:

  • of trauma and orthopaedic department, surgical department, neurosurgical department, neurological department, rheumatology department, internal medicine department, oncology department, gynaecology department, urogical department, paediatric department, cardiological department
  • in the case of exacerbations of chronic diseases,physician of rehabilitation clinic, trauma and orthopaedic clinic, neurological clinic, rheumatology clinic
Referral for neurological rehabilitation is issued by the physician of:
  • neurological clinic, neonatal clinic, neurosurgical clinic, paediatric clinic, trauma and orthopaedic clinic, rehabilitation clinic, paediatric surgery
  • anaesthesiology and intensive therapy department, neonatal department, neurology and neurosurgery department, orthopaedics and traumatology department, paediatric surgery, infectious diseases department, paediatric department

Department is ready to admit and treat the patients confined to bed and those using crutches or wheelchairs.
